An application for a 150-foot-tall telecommunications tower (with an approximately 5-foot lightning rod extending above) is currently under review by the Village of Menands Zoning Board of Appeals. At the Board’s request, Vertical Bridge Development, LLC and Cellco Partnership (collectively “Applicant”) will be conducting a balloon float on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 8 AM – 11 AM to assist in understanding the visual effects of the tower. A 4-foot diameter red balloon will be flown at the proposed location of the tower at the height of 155 feet, using a 35-foot-long tether tied to a 120-foot-tall man lift. The location of the balloon float will be from the proposed location of the tower at 381 Broadway (A/K/A 15 Elmwood Road Ext.), Menands, New York.
