The Building Department is responsible for the enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code as well as the State Energy Conservation Code as adopted by the Village Board. The Department is open from 8 AM until 4 PM, Monday through Friday, and can be reached at the Village Office telephone number at 434-2922. We are always happy to answer your questions and assist you in completing your project.
The mission of the Building Department is accomplished through the issuance of a Building Permit for the construction, rehabilitation, demolition or alteration of residential and commercial structures in the Village of Menands. Permits are required for most work but there are some exceptions.
